Race Report
Yesterday, 8 Nenagh triathletes took to the strong winds with some great performances, in the last of this years Limerick Duathlons. It was all up for grabs as Kevin Sherlock and Joe Cantwell fought it out, every stride of the way, to claim the infamous title, 'First Nenagh man home'.
Joe took an early lead in the race, with Kevin close behind but it was Kevin's strength at the end that allowed him to pip Joe on the line after a tough up hill finish. Well done to the two lads.
Benny Delaney came home next for the club, with a very impressive and promising first race. He was closely followed by Gary Prout, who bettered his previous time, and Ailbhe Carroll who had some unfinished business from the last race. Brian O'Rourke and Shane Kelly, also participating in their first races came home very satisfied and hungry for more. Brian O' Neill, also had a great race for his first of the season. These performances are promising for a good season ahead for the club.
The final positions of the Nenagh triathletes were as follows:
- Kevin Sherlock - 22nd
- Joe Cantwell - 25th
- Benny Delaney - 49th
- Gary Prout - 56th
- Ailbhe Carroll - 66th
- Brian O'Rourke - 75th
- Shane Kelly - 79th
- Brian O'Neill - 82nd
